Achievements
Our students have participated in Creative Writing contests specific for Heritage Speakers of Spanish.
In 2017, José E. Gutiérrez a double major in Law Enforcement and Criminal Psychology with a double minor in Spanish and Homeland Security, won first place at national level in the category of poetry.

In 2018, Gabriela Montoya a Spanish Teacher Certification major won 3rd place at the Spanglish Creative Writing Contest in the category of short story, it was called “I was born in the United States but English is My Second Language"
